What advice would you give someone starting CrossFit for the first time?

Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Everyone starts somewhere and everyone’s on their own journey. Just take it one session at a time.

What keeps you motivated to train?

Honestly, just seeing progress over time. Some days you feel strong, some days you don’t, but showing up consistently always pays off. Plus, I’ve got a serious sweet tooth… got to earn that ice cream!

What’s your favourite thing about gym community?

The support. No matter your level, people genuinely want to see you improve and do well.

What advice would you give someone starting CrossFit for the first time?

Just start, the hardest part is stepping through that front door. The community and support is what will keep you coming back. Everyone’s journey is individual, but we workout together.

What keeps you motivated to train?

My children, my friends, our community. Even on days where I don’t feel like training, I never leave feeling worse..!

What’s your favourite thing about gym community?

You create life long friendships, where people who once were strangers cheer louder for you than people you may have known years. No egos, just support for people hard stuff, together!

What advice would you give someone starting CrossFit for the first time?

Starting crossfit can be one of the most rewarding sports you do and taking the first step through the gym door can be the hardest part. Treat every class as a lesson and you will pick up the movements in no time

What advice would you give someone starting CrossFit for the first time?

Just come along, you don't need to be fit already.. there's no "not fit enough for CrossFit". CrossFit meets you where you are and is accessible to EVERYONE.

What keeps you motivated to train?

My son, showing him that exercise is a normal part of life and teaching him what the body is capable of. I'm also highly competitive so I always want to stay ahead of everyone I can in the gym

What’s your favourite thing about gym community?

It's supportive, keeps you accountable and pushes you on to new levels

You don't need to "fit enough" to do CrossFit. It's for everyone and everyone is welcome. You don't need to know all the lingo straight away either. The coach will explain everything that you need to know for your first session. No question is a stupid or silly one.  Focus on technique and consistency first and the rest will follow.

What keeps you motivated to train?

I am a working mum of an energetic 7 year old who loves his football! Also, both my jobs involve coaching so staying active is important. It also helps me relieve stress and stay as sane as possible!

What’s your favourite thing about gym community?

Nothing beats working out with your mates! Getting through a tough workout as a group is the honestly of the best feelings. If you are struggling, words of encouragement from the coach and other members will get you through.

What advice would you give someone starting CrossFit for the first time?

Just keep showing up. Don’t worry about being ‘fit enough’ to start CrossFit. Don’t worry about the ‘skills’. Those will come. Just keep showing up.

What keeps you motivated to train?

The vibe of the gym, and the positive energy I get from a good solid workout is what keeps me coming back.

What’s your favourite thing about gym community?

My favourite thing about the gym community is how competitive it can be while still creating a culture that champions both individual progress and collective success.
